Code of Ethics

Published by Danni Veng (dv@netpointers.com)

There are many SEO techniques at hand to increase a website's ranking. However, a lot of those are frowned upon by the search engines.

A number of techniques are considered 'unethical' and may result in penalties or a complete ban. That could be repeating keywords unreasonably often on a page, making the text invisible by using the same text and background color, or frequently submitting a website to the search engines. At Netpointers, we build our SEO strategies on a very strict code of ethics.

The search engines have become much better at emphasizing what the World Wide Web is all about: to bring relevant content to the users/searchers. Despite their clever nature, the search engine crawlers still won’t share with us the many factors they’re looking for when evaluating and ranking sites. What we can tell for sure is that the boundaries for what you’re allowed to do to optimise pages are changing all the time. That’s why we put a lot of resources into research and development. It’s vital for us to continually upgrade our strategies and technologies to meet the search marketing of tomorrow.

We don't use magic tricks. We don't wear black hats. We just make sites perform better. It's hard and creative work - but it’s our passion.

Shaping good web ethics

As a leading company specialising in SEO strategies and techniques, we know that we play an important role when submitting information to the search engines. We have a responsibility for submitting quality, i.e. to follow web standards, to submit relevant content, support usability etc. Not just for the sake of our clients but also in relation to contribute positively to the web communities. We occupy the position to help educate website owners and promoters about ethical search engine optimisation strategies.
